Haydenshapes Holy Grail FF - FCS II - 5 Fin
The Holy Grail is a model that sits a little above the Hypto Krypto in terms of ability to perform tight critical moves in the pocket. It is a board that your average surfer can ride and catch a lot of waves, but experienced surfers can also push this board into some very high performance waves and maneuvers. It has been designed to take that Hypto surfer on a journey with their surfing ability, still maintaining that flow and run the Hypto has but reducing the surface area in the nose, as well as using some inverted outlines late in the tail to bring some very responsive curves and feeling later in your turns. It can ride all types of waves from flatter faced waves to steep faced waves. The Holy Grail comes with 5 fin boxes for a thruster or quad setup. Haydenshapes surfboards come without fins and fin screws.
OVERVIEW
The Holy Grail Outline The Holy Grail Rocker has been design to ensure it retains the speed and familiar feel to the Hypto Krypto using the same large radius or flatter curve (for continuous speed). The increase in tail lift has been designed to compensate for the wider block on the tail plan shape. It’s entry rocker is very similar to retain the best paddle power, although there is added curve 12” back from the nose to improve the fit in the tighter curves of the wave. To summarise, the Holy Grail is a performance board that is ridden shorter and wider than a traditional performance design, it has plenty of volume throughout the board to ensure it can paddle easily, along with a lot of flow when surfing off the front foot. Although it is shorter, wider and more carries more volume, the design does not sacrifice any performance or response off the back foot for when you line up those great sections or waves.
FutureFlex Technology Designed and patented by Haydenshapes founder Hayden Cox, FutureFlex is an affluent mix of modern custom designed materials and modern design innovation for high-performance surfing. The construction combines a stringer-less, high-density custom shaped EPS core laminated with biaxial fiberglass, epoxy resin and a parabolic carbon fiber frame. The carbon fiber frame within the laminate is the key to the performance vitality of the overall product. Designed to maximize speed and drive while minimizing twist, FutureFlex essentially stores and releases energy as the surfer transitions through a turn.
